Hello, I have brand new website for a month and half, I start seo optimization for it 4 weeks ago, which include: daily article, bookmark same article in digg and article url ping in almost 20-30 ping site with one click, few directories (some already approved), few articles (with deep links, 3 of them aproved). Each week I am updating the sitemap.xml in google, 106 indexed pages of 354 till now. So the problem is there is no any traffic yet, only very few from digg and one organic from google. Maybe some guru expert will give me an advice?
I am a n00b, but just try to share with you about this case, I use lens and social networking like facebook and twitter or identica, if you have a lot time you can use blogwalking, and i think use Google trend as your topic in your new post will help you to drive traffic to your blog or site. Correct me if I am wrong.
You need more inbound links to inner pages and homepage. You also need to ensure your meta tages, desc, content is relevant to your keywords, then google will see you as worthwhile to index and show up on results higher.
well yes I am agree about social lenses, i made twitter account and facebook, but I can`t see any deal, some follows from time to time in twitter and that`s it. Maybe squidoo and hubpages are better in these cases.
To 2dragonsltd: yea, I think one the problem is that the site is new, second the topic beauty, health... is very popular, and third too little inbound links, oh and four some english grammar mistakes. As far as on page optimization think is ok, almost excellent, each article has keywords, description, unique title, min 300 words as content..., but still no traffic
Look dear only 4 weeks is not enough for good traffic. Work regularly basis and slowly your visitor will grow and try to do social bookmarking every day.
Good luck with it all, it does take time, give it 3 months and review from there. Keep working hard, remember content is king.
only social bookmarking is not enough to get higher ranking. Look, we do SEO for long term purposes, as it takes atleast 3-4 months to come on 1st page of any average keyword. So if you want to get quick traffic, go for the facebook twitter route, dont just create profiles and leave them. Get active on facebook, drive traffic to your profile. and on twitter in order to get followers you need to follow alot of people too. Other very imp. thing you must do is create video about your niche (make it informative) and upload it on youtube, and give your link in Description. This will help you gaining some initial traffic.
Man you just need to bookmark on facebook if do you have a fan page on facebook and a lot of fans ever there this will bring a Hugh traffic to your website
You just shoot the point with this! For facebook and twitter I meant that I bookmarked the new post every day, but still I can`t see any traffic from those site, I will go on that though. Very good idea about youtube, thanks for this advice. What I think when I start the website was that if I have a good start with alot content, the traffic will come easier and faster, now I think, the therm "alot content" for English language site in very competitive niche is mean nothing, because there are very old good websites out there with thousand articles and thousands inbound links, so my "alot content" is not so big deal as I thought.
Let's go down the list... Ok so the site is about 6 wks old... Ok... fresh content daily... That's good! Okay IF and only if someone happens to stumble across your bookmark at digg AND they actually click on it then you might get some traffic. If hundreds or thousands of people do this then you "might" get some diggs but it's not likely. Otherwise, no traffic from there... and no help with SEO since the links are nofollowed. I'm guessing you're using a blog for your site. Your blog "should" already ping the search engines when you first publish your post. So pinging them again is likely worthless as far as getting them to come crawl and possibly index your new post. They engines have likely already crawled it or have it scheduled to be crawled. Directories are probably some of the lowest quality links you can get... Just getting approved doesn't guarantee the page your listing is on is indexed or that Google has not discounted all links from that directory's category/sub-category pages anyway (as they have really been making directory submissions almost worthless over the last 2-3 years).... so even if you're approved these are likely not helping much if any from an SEO perspective. Ok... This is probably the BEST effort so far from an SEO perspective... again assuming your article pages at the submission site are indexed, and that the links are actually FOLLOW links. EzineArticles is probably the best site to submit articles to. But links in the body of the article are NOFOLLOW links... I would recommend putting both links to your site in the author bio at the end of the article. Those links are FOLLOW links. This does absolutely nothing for your site from an SEO perspective other than tell Google which pages you would prefer them to index first... and that depends on you setting the <priority> element accordingly. My guess is that ALL URLs in your sitemap.xml are likely using the same value for <priority>.... 0.5. Google only uses the sitemap.xml to "assist" them with the crawl... It does NOT guarantee anything in the file will get indexed.. it does NOT make Google crawl your site more often. It is basically good for two things: 1) telling Google about URLs that they might not normally find by crawling your site (assuming your site has some crawlability issue preventing them from crawling it properly) and 2) telling them how to prioritize pages for indexing (i.e. If you have room for X pages in your index then pick these pages 1st... then if still room available pick these pages next... etc.). Other than that sitemap.xml files are useless. Solution: Your problem is that your pages are likely not ranking for any keyword phrases that people are searching for. Quit wasting your time on Digging your posts, performing useless pings, building and submitting useless sitemaps. Focus on on-page, on-site, and off-site SEO. Of all of those, building quality backlinks with your targeted keyword phrase (or slight variations) as the link text will do the most for your rankings. Get your rankings up and traffic will come (assuming you've targeted the right keyword phrases).
Give it time. You are not going to see massive success overnight. Social bookmarking can be a crap-shoot. You'll usually only see big traffic from it if the content you submitted to digg (or reddit or delicious) is flat-out awesome and gets hot. Stick with the articles and the deep links. Deep links show Google that your site is quality throughout, not just on the homepage. Article marketing takes time to gain steam; some people don't see real results for 2-3 months. However, it's a great way to establish yourself as an expert in your niche and set yourself apart from your competitors. The key, though, especially if your niche is very popular, is to have solid SEO content (both on-page and off) that sets you apart. Why should people visit your site when they have thousands or millions of other options? Think about your target audience and what they're looking for. Address their needs, answer their questions, and let them know what's in it for them to spend time on your site.
It takes a lot of time before a website is getting regular traffic, you always should what you are doing now and also build backlinks in social bookmarking site, press releases, blogs and forums. Try guest post also, it can bring you a lot of traffic and if your content are good, people will be your followers.
I wrote most of what I know in this SEO guide and I refer everyone to it if they're unsure about where to begin. For you I'd recommend trying to get some organic links which don't come from social bookmarking sites (maybe you could write a few articles) because I think that'll help you most if your content is already great. Look over that SEO guide when you have some time just for some basics.
It's tough to say without knowing the exact domain, unless you're actually talking about inikesneakers.com and you're a domain registrar, in which case you shouldn't have any problem finding a new domain. ;-) Give us a URL to look at and we may be able to help. Otherwise, it's a whole lot of back and forth asking what you've tried and what your kw density is, IBL's, etc. Brian.
Backlinks, and then more backlinks. That's the best way to improve your rankings and visitors. And personally, I don't bother much with sitemaps as google is very good about indexing. You should also focus your effort on a few keywords first, rather than the whole website.
Updating your website regularly, and submitting site in google webmaster isnt good enough. First Step is to find a niche , keyword which you are trying to rank for in google , If use the exact same keyword in your domain , would help you rank for that keyword. Make sure keyword which you are trying to rank for , gets decent amount of traffic for that keyword. using adwords keyword suggestion tool. Do proper onsite seo for the website , atleast title , keywords ,meta tags , description. Build backlinks and try to rank your website for that keyword. more traffic = more $$$ let me know if you still need help with your site SEO.
OP: Youve mentioned NOTHING about onpage work. if those factors arent in place, ANY other effort is WASTED. And 4 weeks is a blink in serp terms.
