Writing unique articles and submitting them to article directories can generate a large number of relevant back links. But my question is which article directory is the best to generate more back links?

Any article directory with high enough page rank will be beneficial for your link building efforts.

 

There are a ton of quality article directories out there.

 

How many articles do you post per directory? Is it ok to have more articles in the same directory ?

 

More articles you post then better and it is not limited by directory how many articles you can submit.
Just make sure that the articles are good quality and just not the spinned version of the same article submitted under different category.

 

Firstly you should write a unique article and submit this article to some famous article directories.
( To find list of article directories search on this forum ) . Then after your articles approved, submit those links to social bookmarking websites, then wait some weeks to see your articles in top of search results. By doing this you can make backlinks for your articles and website.
Becasue if even you submit your article to PR10 article directory, you must submit links to social bookmarks ( or anyother places that you can submit your links ) for making backlinks for it to see your article on top of search results.

Agree totally with this list. Ezine is still the BEST for traffic, but these are all in the top 10 for links and G likes them all because they have editorial review (well, Goarticles not so much, but users can flag bad articles). Yes, articlesbase.com is nofollow, but I suspect G actually counts nofollow while saying that they do not.
