It should. But Fifa is hardheaded. The Germany-England match should be a wake-up call to Fifa officials.

You're completely right. They need to introduce video replays and other techno help in the game. Quickly !!!

This has been done in the NBA finals. Why can't fifa just implement it?

Yes I am damn sure we need it now at least at World Cups! That ball cross line and anyone can easily watch it but that linesmen didn't seen it. It was horrible and if it was 2-2 then we might have better results yesterday!

I still have to hear from fifa why they are adamant on allowing video replays for crucial soccer match. It should also apply to flagrant fouls. TV Replays show how dirty some football players play the game.

Videos are already used for flagrant fouls and even if aplayer is not punished right away by the referee, he can be suspended or whatever actions is needed after the game.

As for goals, the problem in football/soccer is that the game is played quicker than any other game, watching a video like in rugby will pause the game.

Though many ideas are in FIFA minds like 2 more referees behind goals (like in Europa Cup), many things are being tested.
Again, the problem with that is that will discard the referee's decisions and what is worse in soccer that a referee that cannot have the final word? NOTHING. If referee's decisions are questioned over a goal then every other decisions will be contested by players and it will be an endless game to play... sometimes it's already happening even when referee has made his decision so...

I think best option is to put something on ball that it detects when ball crosses line . They can't slow down game , buy watching on tv and deciding :)

I don't think they should implement it, the lack of it adds drama to the game

Finally Fifa accepted their mistake and now we would have Video Technology in next World cup! Also their is good news for English football fans, owner of Hawk-eye technology offered free installation on all English Grounds!

No. I don't think so. It's waste of time and players get a chance to relax.

You are spot one and we know it was great experiments in Europa Cup and Fifa should introduce it in Country level football! It also avoid play stop which we might need in Video technology.

Why would it be a waste of time when it makes the game fair and legit? I don't think players would feel good if they won a game through a deceitful decision of the referee.

Of course FIFA should, but it doesn't.

This world cup has been a disappointed meant to me, too many dives, the ball is hideous(how many crosses don't even land in the bloody field), and appalling reffing.

The players out there don't know what to expect.

While as an Australian (both our top strikers got undeserved red cards - knocking us out), i'm particularly sore - there are plenty of other teams (such as england) that have also been burnt.

Its not the refs fault, but rather the FIFA refusal to accept that its ref cannot make correct decisions all the time - especially when players are "Simulating". In rugby (a violent sport), we have camera's, two refs on the field, side line refs etc. Not only is the game just as fast as soccer - the players always know that no-matter the decision they have had a fair shot it. Right now in soccer it depends entirely on how the ref was feeling, and where he was looking at the time.

Goal line technology that reconises if the ball has passed the line is a must. There are so many times a ball goes over the line and the ref does not call it. I would also like to see video replays on Offside goals and Penalties - give each manage 2-3 calls.
