All on the same server apparently. Do they have different databases? http://ipcheck.itamer.com/index.php?searchid=536
Seeing how the domain name registration is but for a single year, what's the odds that they'll be around beyond that?
It is obvious to me that your questions are "interesting", although painfully obvious that you've already come to your own conclusions therefore making such questions somewhat rhetorical. I will attempt to answer them anyways.... Sarah, it is nice that you expose your own agenda in this directory food chain by providing your "itamer" service and for that I applaud you. Yes Sarah, all my directories have there own data and are not identical in any way. StarCaller, another excellent question, perhaps for my first shot at directories I should have a 5 year .com each on there own ip on a dedicated server. I think pr5+, the latest paid directory script with all the bells and whistles with custom professionally crafted templates. Then I can accept your free links. ....OR.... I could do what I've done with the budget I have and hope that you like what I have to offer, if not, move on. I don't mean to be rude, but some of your comments and expectations are so blah... blah blah, yeah I get it. I don't have the totally awesome uber directory your looking for, great, but perhaps for now it will meet the needs of others. Having to tell me that my Pinto isn't the Rollsroyce your so accustomed to is just childish. Sorry I don't have the flavor your looking for but I'll guarantee somebody will dig what I provide, if it's not you, that's ok to. I don't know how long these directories will be up, if it costs me more than what I gain I can promise you they will be gone next year. I do have to put in time, money and effort to put these up and to be frank with you, it's not worth it. Well, best wishes and who knows (boy this reply almost turned into a rant...almost..). -sgt
Do you intend on keeping any of them up for longer than the current registration period? If not, I won't waste any more of your time or mine.
Well I'm not a politician so I'm not going to kiss a baby, look you right in the eye and lie to you. I hope to keep these going and it depends on how they initially do within the first month or two. If they don't recoup the cost of putting them up then they will disappear faster than your daddy's Oldsmobile, it's that simple. Contingent on return, I do have a mid and long term plan for these directories that include the possibility of reinvesting to procure better hosting on either a vps or dedicated server as well. I have goals to reach and do not mind using my time for this endeavor, but I will not put in any more money out of my own pocket on this venture. This project needs to be self sufficient and sustaining and pay for any expansion or upgrades. So as you can see, it takes a bit of faith on all parts. I didn't undertake this lightly and I do not begin things that I expect to fail, preliminary results for these directories are indeed promising. -sgt
