i don't see what the big deal is with google page rank. Could somebody explain it to me a little better? I don't think my blog has a pagerank but its still on the first page of a popular google search?

Also, every tool i use seems to give me a different pagerank so could somebody figure out my pagerank or give me a tool that they know works.
    -Thanks

Page Rank comes 100% from other sites linking to you. Your page rank is showing as 0. While page rank isn't important, backlinks are. I would find it hard to believe that a site without backlinks is ranking on the first page for any competitive term. Forget about the number of search results - it means nothing. Use the google adwords tool to determine how many people are searching for you keywords. Make sure you use "exact match". FYI, using a google trademark in your domain name is against the TOS and subjects you account to termination. http://www.google.com/permissions/guidelines.html

Pagerank is only 1 factor for ranking results. Many websites with high pagerank shown in lower positions for some keywords and some other low pagerank website shown in higher positions. Pagerank is 1 factor and its not everything.

page rank does not have any concern with SERP.so why are you so curious about PR.

PR just shows you how important your website to Google when Google decides the page position when someone search

Are you saying that using the word youtube in my domain name is against the terms of service?

PageRank is one factor that determines your site placement in the search engine. Exactly how it is calculated is complex and secret, there is endless speculation on the exact algorythmns used but the fact is that noone but Google knows. Your site PR will be higher if you have links from authoritative sites with related content. It used to be the case that every back link you had would help your PR increase, now that is decidedly false - too many irrelevant and/or paid back links can actually lower your search engine placement.

Whilst PR is something to take an interest in, I don't think it needs too much effort spent on it. The key is always to have quality, unique content and to make your site attractive enough for others to link to it.
