It depends a lot on what you're looking for. Akismet is an absolute have to have regardless of the theme you're running. If you have a great SEO-friendly theme like Thesis from DIYThemes.com you don't even need All-in-One SEO Pack. Thesis lets you control everything you need to from an SEO perspective. Thesis Openhooks is the best plugin to have if you're using Thesis. If you're not using an SEO-friendly theme like Thesis then All-in-One SEO Pack is probably your best SEO solution plugin. Contact7 is a great plugin for creating contact forms... There are thousands of good plugins out there for WP depending on the problem you're trying to solve.
I'm using the Thesis them. It is very SEO friendly. However, I have the All In One SEO plug-in installed too. I was using it prior to installing Thesis. Now I don't know how to remove the plug-in and move all of the SEO information from the All In One fields to the Thesis fields. Anyone know how to do that?
I doubt that there is a utility to transfer data from All-in-One into the Thesis custom fields... You could do it manually with 2 browsers open and cut/paste assuming you don't have thousands of pages. Once you've copied them all over you should be able to Deactivate All-in-On. The Theme should begin picking up the values from the Thesis custom fields. Once you've verified that Thesis is using it's own fields after All-in-One is Deactivated then you can completely remove All-in-One.
Unfortunately, I have about 6,000 pages. I'll bet a MySQL database wizard could do it, but finding one my be difficult.

Depends on your requirement. Basically if you want to optimize your Title and Meta Tags then All in SEO. If you want to optimize your post and pages use social bookmark plugins so that people add them on their personal bookmarks. Use popular post plugin to show your top post on every page. Nofollow plugin for all external links from the website and many more.
As other have stated, All-In-One-SEO is a really good plugin. You should also at least use the XML sitemaps plugin.
Is true that all in one SEO is best, but also use.. Wp.no category base. plugins... it will remove the category from the url and seo suggested..
