I just heard that Google is about to make a competitor for Facebook!

I just heard that Google.. the popular search giant is trying to make a social network called "Google Me" to challenge Facebook! Recently the Digg founder Kevi Rose tweeted about this and started a big rumor! I also just wrote an article about it on my blog (http://www.techhamlet.com/2010/06/google-me/)

What do you think about this? Will google kill FB as they say or what?

 

Be confusing since they already have Orkut, and now Google Buzz which is essentially their social network feature wrapped around gmail and the google account itself.

also...the vast majority of people already have a facebook page are not going to add another social networking platform

 

I wouldn't say that, many people are using a few platforms

 

I have watched video about Google Wave , it can be competitor to facebook . but they use different approach there . Kind of embedding it to your website.

 

It is hard to envisage Facebook fading in the near future, as people understand the apps and like the layout. Plus all this registering and signing in to multiple sites is tiresome.
