I want a PR4 site, whad do I need?

If I were to purchase a link for a PR6 site would that make my site a PR4? Also how long would it take for that to happen? I heard Google only updates PR like 3 times a year.

Also does the niche matter when purchasing links? I have an automotive site. Would it matter if I bought a PR6 site about house cleaning? Or should it relate to automotive stuff?

    Thanks

if you want a PR4 site, then you can probably buy a site with existing PR4. or buy a dropped domain from domain aftermarket that has PR4. tons of PR link sellers (crooks in this case) are selling PR links on dropped domains. or you can start a new site and slowly start building backlinks to get your PR increased.

a single PR6 link may or may not help you get PR4. all depends on how popular the site is, how often the site gets indexed by googlebot, whether the site in question is nofollow or dofolow, how many external links the site has on the page where you are getting a link form, etc.

if you are buying links with only PR in mind, then it doesn;t matter you are buying links form a different niche site. relevancy only matters where it comes to SERP ranking

Would I want the site to be nofollow or dofollow? I already have a site that is PR0 that I have been working on for the past 6 months. I am looking to increase its page rank.

You want a "dofollow" link, otherwise it won't pass Pagerank.

Bear in mind, that you can have two PR6 sites - one will pass you virtually no Pagerank and you might make it to PR1 while the other will pass you lots of Pagerank and you'll make it to PR5. As sultanofseo said above, there are many factors involved, and one important factor is the number of existing links on the page.

Another thing to bear in mind is that Toolbar PR is approximate. When you are looking at a PR4 page, it might be closer to a PR3 than a PR5 and the difference between a weak PR4 and a strong PR4 is huge.

Thanks for the info. So I am assuming it is better to have your link and a few others on a PR6 page than have your link and hundreds of other links on a PR6 page? for example

david, what do you need PR4 website for? PR4 does not give you a good ranking by itself, moreover, one PR4 site will not bring you good money from link sales.
Current PR computation algo is messy and not traceable. You can get links from 25 PR6 websites and no one would be willing to give a cent on a prediction that your PR will become 4.

For a PR 4 site you will need 1 or 2 pr6 links. Yes the relevancy matters, you will get more authority form a related sites' link.

Dont focus on pagerank, focus on your keyword ranking instead. Pagerank will follow.. Pagerank doesn't give you money, ranking on a specific keyword does!

But links from PR6 does not mean you will get PR 4, but if you have 10 PR 6 which the links come from those high pr then i am sure you will rank at least PR3 in the google update

what if the PR6 site got most of its traffic from another country where my site is in the US and gets most of its traffic in the US. Would that matter?
