I agree you will always find better functions and usually a most user friendly layout in newer versions.
I haven`t heard too much good things about cs4, but you can try all of them. Personally, I only use CS3 and I have tried CS5 too and it's way better
I'm using CS3, and have absolutely no desire or need to "upgrade". I've got no problem sticking with old software... I'm still authoring stuff using Macromedia Flash 8 Newer doesn't necessarily mean better.
I use cs 3 as well . Maybe because I am old stile but sometimes I feet no need to change something that is working cool
I'd say the best thing to do is keep up with the times. Sure previous releases area great, but with the latest version (CS5) for the time being will have the latest updates/fixes and improvements.
i've just recently upgraded from cs3 to cs4 and there's not too much difference. I'd suggest going with the newest version cs5, though if you already have an older version (like cs3 or cs4) there's nothing wrong with using it.
I use cs3 and just add the plugin, quite satisfied ... but you can try new tools in cs5and cs4. good luck.....
mostly i use cs2 but as you know that in market now a days cs5 is also available so you must go with cs5 without any hesitation...
I'm quite satisfied with CS3, I tried a trial version of CS4 but I'm not satisfied with it so instead of upgrade I just stick to CS3. Not sure about CS5 though.
I am using Photoshop 7 as well as CS5...and i find both of them gr8...when i need to go for graphic intensive layouts then i use CS5 otherwise 7....
