Hi guys, Hope everyone's well. I have been very busy building links for my site over the past several weeks. I have been focusing on one important keyword. I don't have too many anchor text links so far, but everything that I do have is on PR3+ sites and the majority of the links could be considered related sites. When I first started, I was on page 5 of Google search results, then as I garnered more and more links, my Google search results for this keyword moved to page 8 and now, I'm not even in the first 10 pages. Does anyone know what's going on here? My Alexa ranking has improved from 18 million to 7.2 million. Alas, it's an improvement. Why did my Google search results go down like this? I have at least 48 links that I know of and when I first started, I had no links. I've done the right things even though all of the links are NoFollow. Any suggestions would be appreciated. If your domain/site is new, this is very common. Rank well for a short period and then completely fall out. It can take 6 months to a year for your site to age and start ranking well.
Also, does anyone know how many NoFollow links equate to the SEO power of one DoFollow link? Or am I doomed by trying to build up NoFollow links? DoFollow links seem to be extinct... Thanks!
NoFollow links are of no SEO value. The only benefit is any traffic they might provide from someone clicking the link or getting a site indexed.
Hi MJewel, Thanks so much! So, I think I will need to continue building the backlinks without constantly checking my Google search results on a daily basis. DoFollow links are practically extinct! I do believe I have no DoFollow links. So this essentially means my PR will always be low? I have read somewhere that a certain % of NoFollow links will provide some "authority" with regard to SEO.
