So I was reminiscing my past sites by looking at my all-time stats from Adsense (I've been with them for close to 3 years now)... and I realize now that I really had something going great in early 2005. I had a site that was getting 10-15k impressions per day and there worst part is... I never actually meant to! I've always just let sites grow over time and that one became a big hit for some reason. Well I sold that one, made another, sold that one, and so on. I don't like to revamp sites, I like to make fresh ones learning from what I did before it. But anyways, I want to really put time into my site this time. It's still the same niche as what I've been making from the beginning. The impressions are embarassingly low (I may hit the first 1k per day mark today), and I know it can do better. It hurts when I look back now and didn't even realize what I had going for myself Where do I start? I don't even know WHAT to do. Like I said, I've always just let it grow over time... so please, any advice at all would be great, but make sure I can understand what you're trying to say . Nick
Increase traffic by this method : Email submission to your list, Directory submission, article submission, Rss & Blog submission, site submission, forum submission and press release submission. This should help you tremendously. Regards/Puneet M.
Like Puneet said and ad social bookmarking, link exchanging and if it's worth start looking at ppc traffic and services like adbrite.com
link exchanges and directories work well, but if I was making 15k/ impressions a day i would keep the site lol, that amount can make you like $30/day easy ive seen it once or twice on my site and wish i could see it aggain
I know , like I said, it hurts now to see what I had back then. That's why it's my goal to work up to that point again. What directories should I submit my site to? Any big ones I should look at? And who should I exchange links with? What do you mean by Email submission, article submission, and forum submission. I don't think my site would apply well to blogs or press releases. Nick
look in the services section of this forum, find a seller that has a good rep and good replys to his service, people saying things liek WOW my traffic is going up crazy because of this service etc etc, look for sites similar to yours and send them a email, tell them you need a links exchange!!! also check the link exchnages section of this forum good luck getting back to your 15k point.
IXM what do you think that you were possibly doing right in the past that brought the unexpected success with the other sites? i know you suggest you were not going out of your way to promote them heavily but im guessing there was an element somewhere that made them popular.
I honestly didn't do anything. I went to the site at my school and it spread throughout there through word-of-mouth, and then I'd assume they told their friends and so on. That won't work anymore though. Connections: I'll definitely look into it. I'm afraid though, what if a service I use ends up being against Adsense's TOS? Nick
I think what he meant is here are the options. You can either do everything he/she suggested or do few. Articles, Blogs & Press Release Submissions do wonders. Email outs can also do magic! Keep doing this for your lucrative KWs and very soon (6 mos to be conservative) you will be at 10-15K impressions. Also a bit of onsite optimization advice - update your sitemap as you update rest of your site. Goodluck...

Ok...you are asking about how to build traffic to my site but also what does it all mean. Just a short description and a few hints about the things mentioned here. About each subject there is a lot of information here on dp but to get you going Email submission to your list Is all about sending emails to people you have the name and email from. Makes only sence of course if you already have a list but what you realy should do is start building a list at your site. Look into autoresponders and emaillist building tips and script. The idea is that if people subscribe to your list and you send them a message for insteance about a new sction of your site they will return. Directory submission Submit to directories. A tool I use is lazyseo.com and I cn recommend it but it's only if you have more then 1 site article submission Write an article about your topic and submit it to article directories. I've always found that adwords and submission to loads of search engines helps increase traffic, well it has with my forums.

Adwords is not hard and I use it all the time....but only on products I actually make and sell myself. I have tried the game adwords <->affiliate product and I think it's very difficult. Conversion and ROI was just a bit more then I spent so at the end I was paying $500 tot get $520 and that was not worth it. On the other hand I use it for my business and because of the profitmargin I have I make $7 for every $1 If your margins are good I definatly think it's good to think about adwords.
