Full name .COMs are nice for a personal website, blog, or to post your resume. Unless you have an obscure or hard-to-spell name I don't get why anybody would not want to own their own name .COM. Lots of people are posting that they don't want their own name. Anybody care to elaborate? I wish I had registered my own name .COM when it was available, even though I had no use for it back then. Now it may never be available again.
Personally, I just wouldn't use it. I'm not really into the whole blogging thing and I can't think of any reason that I'd want or need a personal site. It just wouldn't be of any use to me. That's the reason I'm not particularly bothered about it.
If you have a common name it will be gone... I got mine but I registered it almost a decade ago. That said, I registered my kids names as well... something to think about! They may want them someday.
After reading about everyone saying theirs have gone I thought I'd go and check mine. I'm happy to say I now have the .com
I own a few extentions of my name lol... I plan on being very successful and plan on developing everyone of them into some sort of blog or business site.. I registered even 3 extentions for my fiancee' .com, org and .net.. I also own .org of my first name. .net and .com were taken so heck with it lol.. I registered my first and last name with many extentions over 3 years ago..
I used to want mine, but now I have one that has a play on my name. I don't like my real name, so I would never get it.
I got my own dot Com a while back. First and Sir combo. Family likes the idea. email : me AT myOwnName dot COM
Heck yeah. If you can't rank #1 for your own name I picked up my name, my son's names and my wife's name plus the relevant shorter versions of their first names...
I have my full name .com. I dislike not getting my name on social sites so you can imagine how much it would irk me to not have my name.com. I haven't put up a page, but i like that i have the option in the future.
