If you’re in a hurry and need to power off your computer quickly, you can create a desktop shortcut to shutdown windows with a simple double-click. To create a new shortcut in Windows XP, right-click the desktop > Select “New†> Shortcut. When the “Create Shortcut†wizard prompts you for the location of the item, type in (without the quotes) ‘shutdown.exe -s -f -t 01‘ and click “Nextâ€. Rename the shortcut to anything you like.
