No use the rep button if you want to thank a post, just because other forums have something doesn't mean DP should have it, I like the way DP is now without a thanks button, leaves threads less cluttered without having "The following users say thanks: gfhgfhg, g, ghfhdf, gdf, ggf" etc.
Well, at least the benefit that I can see, Thank you Button will cut amount of spamming posts thus promote reduction in infractions and bans in addition to extra points to your reputation. fastreplies
Under your post, bottom left - a star next to the report post function. Click it, then wait a few seconds - it is a bit slow and clicking twice makes it get mad at you
How will it do so? People will post spam topics in order for a quick "thanks" thus resulting in more spam topics/copy + paste topics.
If some other forum has thanks button its not mean that DP must have also, Actually Thanks button brings a huge amount of spammers and DP is a quality forum not for spammers. Thats why DP has not thanks button
Hey, I don't know the relationship with spammers and thanks button, please explain that for me. I'm on other forums that use the thanks button, I dont' really care for it as it clutters up the page. Just curious why a thanks button would attract spammers, and why would we be hounded by users saying thanks with names like these? I'm sure it is something really simple and I'm just not getting it, hope you will explain, thanks
Those names were just an example, I didn't want to list any names which a user of DP would have just in case those users thought I was attacking them, so the replacements worked well

No it's not confidential, every user can see it. The thanks button will cause more users to come here and spam the forums with ridiculous topics/copy + pasted topics in order to get a quick "thanks". No thanks isn't as useful as the iTrader system.
