I use noindex, follow tag on my blog category page and all sub pages of home page.

I want to know it is good or bad for SEO.

Category and sub page transfer any value to article page?

"Noindex" means your pages don't get indexed, so obviously it's really bad for SEO. Why on earth do you use it? Remove it to hell!

Nofollow tag only says search engines that don't get value of this page to external links on this page. Usually webmasters use of nofollwo tag for comments to prevent others from spamming on their blogs/website. But i don't recommend it for being used in all of your website.

    Aha!! There you go..
Blog category and tag pages are nothing but a bunch of duplicate contents.. They are helpful for navigation purpose only.
So, removing that from index (or, using noindexd, nofollow) surely impacts SERP positively.

I think Category pages have a lot of potential to rank, and you should be able to add unique content to them so that they are not only duplicate content. For example, if you have a blog about Shoes, the category pages could be "Mens Shoes" or "Running Shoes", and several posts could be applied to each of those general topics. Your individual blog posts would be targeted for more specific terms/topics, such as "Nike's new running shoes for 2010" or "Men and Shoes - why do they only need 3 pairs?"

I suppose most things like this idea are worth a test to see if your traffic does increase, but in this case, it doesn't seem like a good idea to me. Do you have any results that you've seen so far?

i agree...why on earth u should index sub pages like sitemap, contact and privacy policy...just let it exist on your site because google love to see those pages as they will assume that your site is a complete site...not a 1 page site...

so better not to index it...and nofollow also...
