Any suggestions????

Looking for any of the following:
- Science fiction (but could possible happen)
- Mystery
- History, but interesting, not a story for the sake of a story

Thanks, I have 14 hours to fill in.

Jay

I'm starting David Copperfield, it's excellent

Also, have you read the Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy and 3 sequels?

urbanstereotype, i just finished this, it was excellent, looking for something like this. Have read most of the Dan Brown stuff.

cow - hitchhikers... not really my thing. Saw the movie, i'm sure the books are better but it doesn't look promising.

Thanks to you both.

Anyone else?

"His Dark Materials" trilogy its damn good.
Not really history but definatly some sort of sci-fi element.
First one is "Northern Lights".

Probably read it already :)

Any book by kurt vonnegut, ayn rand or robert cormier. You may be able to finish most vonnegut and cormier books in 14 hours but the two large rand books will definently fill 14+ hours of reading.

History, esp. if you are into military history, Stephen Ambrose's Band of Brothers, Pegasus Bridge, or anything by John Toland. Robert K. Massie's histories and historical bios - I especially enjoyed his Peter the Great and Dreadnought (story of leadup to WWI). Sir Max Hastings, Armageddon: The Battle for Germany, 1944-1945 (this last one, in particular, an amazing read. I wrote the author expressing my sentiments, and he kindly wrote back a very personal and thoughtful message). Ronald McNair Scott's Robert the Bruce: King of Scotts.

Sci-Fi:

Dune series. Start with 1 and go through them all.

I know this is not on your list, but I recommend
'Winning results with Google Adwords' by Andrew Goodman.

This is a great book.

Get the book psychocybernetics by Maxwell Maltz.

It's only $5 and worth thousands in my opinion. Best book
I've ever read.
