Well, i assume Co-op means a group of members.. requiring registration and possible agreement to terms+conditions before they have access.

Open Source means that anyone can modify the code, no membership necessary.

Also, Co-op code made be under propritary licenses, etc.

Of all the things that shawn could make open source the coop would be the worst. What could you gain from having a really tiny version of the coop?

We understand the OS world, but the point it - this is a service - not software. The service USES software. It does not fit the OS model very well. I am sure you have good intentions, but it just doesn't make sense with the Co-op.

Well, the client code is. Not sure on the license.

Though you're probably looking for the server.

If it was, opensource people would be able to abuse the system easier.
You would get loads of crappy co-op networks setup.
DP coop itself would not gain much from being opensource.

You don’t need shawn to have this question answered.

You are asking a stupid question that is wasting people’s time.

Look I can do it too
    • Why is myspace not opensource?
    • Why is digg not opensouce ?
    • Etc

Why don’t you make everything you every do free for people to use and edit?

could not find a download on your sites for all the content.
