I am in the process of creating a script that is very cool. It will need to be installed in on a server and will be the actual site. I need to get affiliates for it for it to obviously gain a lot of traction, so is clickbank a good place for it? The question is really related to refunds. If someone buys it and loads it they could easily turn round and say 'did not like it, want a refund? So that would just awful. An alternative could be to install a callback with a licence I suppose that would prevent the average user from 'stealing' the script and a little safer on the black market.
You could definitely sell it on Clickbank, but I would recommend using an different merchant service, unless you want affiliates to help drive your sales. Keep in mind that most savvy website owners will use their own CB affiliate accounts to purchase your product, so you would be losing money that way and with refunds (which is also a real concern with CB).
Thanks for the response dlm. As long as they are buying I will be happy I think I will insert a callback with a licence, therefore any cancellation will cancel the script use or block a core page. Do you know of any experts who provide support [paid or free] to build the buzz around a clickbank product; I am so confident in it that it will be a hit [so the research shows]? thanks
It is a pretty neat script that I could sell for about $147 and pay out 50 - 70% commission, I believe it will be an easy sell at that price. Where do all the clickbank affiliates hang out?
warriorforum have started charging haven't they? I suppose it might be a positive step though inet, it will help filter out the poor quality posters. I too am looking at promoting my own product on clickbank, and i'd love to hear how you get on. PM me and we can chat over AIM or something.
A fellow chap from the UK. Nice to hear from you. I am going through the negotiations of the script and then it will need some tweaks. Confident since it is a no-brainer, I tested something similar for Joomla in 2006 and the component was selling for $67 and made money for the script owners so worked well then, this is different but should work. Got a wicked sales copy writer, so most of the right stuff is in the pot, lets see how I get on.
ClickBank is a great place to start. Especially, if you are seeking affiliates to expand your marketing circle of influence and are willing to offer a minimum of 50% commission on each sale. If your script provides real value, I wouldn't worry too much about refunds. There's always the random product thief who chooses to purchase a digital product for the specific purpose of downloading then requesting a refund. It's just part of doing business online.
