Services like aweber require you to include a physical address at the footer of every mail. Does this location affect performance/leads/sales/clicks/optin in anyway if it is targeted to a general audience? Will a US address perform better as opposed to an address from a lesser known country, perhaps a third world country? Or is there no relation between these aspects? Thanks.
that can heavily impact on reputation and relationship with subscribers if they happen to perform a background check on the address.
I agree with this. Buyers get more and more savvy all the time. If they have half a brain they'll check to see if any of your so called credentials or your contact info is legit. If it isn't, they already know you are a liar, and the chances of them buying your product just plummeted to ZERO! If you don't want to use your real home address--and believe me I don't use mine--do what I do and maintain a post office box. To answer the OPs question, I really don't think it matters to a buyer what country you live in. If you have a good product, and you are believable, they will buy where ever you live.
I second that. I do not think it will effect leads and sales. Everyone knows that the web is worldwide. There are people from everywhere around the globe on the internet. Besides, they will know you are lying if your English is not perfect. I see many people do this in forums. This will be even more worse. So I would say, better to say the truth!
Thanks for the feedback everyone. Well i was considering the post office box option but I am just about testing the waters of email marketing. Depending on its profitability I'll look to invest in a separate p.o. box.
Instead of a post office box, there are companies where you can rent a mailbox that will give you an actual physical address. In my opinion, it's much more professional to have a physical address instead of a p.o box.
