What does the 3D mean in your domain names if I may ask?
To me 3dtelephone makes no sense.

well 3d covers a wide range of things
for example 3dmobile concerns 3d mobile phones which are going to released with a screen you can actually watch a 3d movie like avatar on without the use of glasses,go through the thread and visit the various links posted and you will grasp it.
these are geared to change mobile phones forever and are set to be released next year battry life issues have also been resolved and new batteries go into mass production in the last quarter of this year ready for the new phones as well as new breakthroughs in phone memory which will enable you to store even more on your phone will also be implemented
granted these screens will be small as they are on mobile phones but technology is moving forward fast concerning 3d

just one example out of hundreds i could have chosen from

after awhile 3d will die down and something new will come up.

As of now though the domain industry is getting a huge BOOST from 3d domains

I've just bought a couple of 3D domains myself. 3dtelevisionaccessories.com and 3dcinemalistings.com - I'm not expecting much but I thought I've not got much to lose. :)

I would not sell any of these domains names yet... 3D is in it's infancy and in 1-2 years you could be selling these domains for a small fortune! Be patient... 3D TV's are just hitting the market. Wait until video game consoles go 3rd. That will be huge.

Vizio shows 2010 3D TVs, first passive model for 2011

Vizio announced its 2010 3D TVs at CES in January, and on Tuesday provided a few more details on the upcoming sets. It also showed the first 3D model for the U.S. market to offer passive glasses technology.

I had asked a guy to place a $250 bid on my 3DPhones.org so that it gets auctioned at Sedo. Surprisisngly, there were no more bids.
Is it that the domain was not worth it or that the time to sell was a bit earlier?

I think a bit of both, it is too early to sell, but i dont think a .org will fetch much than that in years to to come, unless its an absolute premium 3D name

The only boost has been GoDaddy's earnings from perpetual noobs thinking that 3D domains are the new 1990's era of buying domains. These fools think they can register crapola today and that 3D is going to be so massively huge that they are going to be sitting on a treasure trove in 2 or 3 years.
