Press Releases or Articles? Which will bring most Backlinks?

    Hey guys,

can you please share your experience with both? What is the better choice in terms of seo link building? an article directory or a free or paid press release service? I 've read in many sites that some times press releases work more to bring traffic, but less to bring backlinks compared to articles. Is it true? What do you think?

Feel free to drop your experience.!

Press Release is good but for the press release we should have information news worthy then only we will get good traffic. Other wise article submission is always works.

That's true.. But don't you think that there are lots of false press releases are coming out just for the sake of links and traffics? What do you think about 'built up' press release? Isn't it a good idea??

that really depends on where are you submitting and what kind of list you have. there are press release sites that will give you backlinks as well as traffic where there are lots of article directory sites where your articles will not even get indexed by google meaning no traffic or backlinks for you. all depends on the submission methods.

since the outcome varies, you should try both methods to see which one works better for you since each niche and each campaign is different.

In my case Article directories gives more back links and traffic also. However press release gives quick back links as PR crawled very fast compare to Articles. So good strategy is always give equal importance to both.

I personally thinks that article directories are better if they contains necessary quality. Press release has certain limitations.

Personally I have had better success with article directories... if it is news worth a press release is good but to get the SEO benefit with PRWeb you need to buy one of their more expensive packages and it is not cheap.

I've had more circulation with articles, only because there are simply more article directories (free) then pr websites (free). Now, assuming you have something newsworthy to say and can spend a couple bucks, the paid pr websites will certainly get you very well circulated, which will be picked up by local news sites and auto bloggers.

Press release will bring you more backlinks, for it submits your press news article to plenty of websites out there. Since it submits same of your news article to plenty of websites, links from those other sites are worthless other than 1 or 2 sites. Article Marketing, on the other hand, will give you fewer links but those links are quality links. So in my opinion Articles Marketing is way way better than Press release.
