its hard to tell why your traffic is down. regarding google dance, it can be if your site was ranking high for a certain term and not ranking the same now. you need to do the proper research to see whether your ranking dropped or not as well as check the analytics stat by comparing with previous month. this will give you some idea

Cannot be everyone, traffic must go somewhere. Still the same people use internet everyday.

It's the new Mayday algo update. Supposed to target content farms but has caused many innocent sites to get blasted from the SERP's. I'm hoping Google is working on a fix.

    Hi, simple007

I have noticed no big changes in traffic from Google. You might want to work out if changes have happened to your main targeted keywords. I think social networking sites would another nice channels for traffic, too.

    Have a nice day,

    1. How old is your website really? Counts from the first date published
    2. What is your backlink strategy you ever done?
    3. What kind of website you have link exchanged with? (if ever)

Probably has to do with the recent Google Caffeine? It is said to be the major revamp of their search engine algorithm altogether!

I have one site that is very content centric, and it took a big hit in the SERPS. My other sites that have less content didn't see anything. So I think the comment about content farms being targeted might have merit.

My traffic was down but has bounced back up again, must have been things settling down after the PR update a few weeks ago

It might be due to the world cup if you are not in sport niche or it might due to your SERP drop
