Question for DP members

hi,
this will probably be an obvious question to most of you guys (and gals of course too) in here. Though it is a no-brainer to you I don't know the answer:
If I go in and add a link to my signature now, will the new link show up in all the previous posts I ever did, or just in the new posts that I do from now on?

its retroactive; it'll show in all posts that you have ever made.

If you added your siggy for the first time now then it wont show in any of your previous posts

That is weird! I have never seen a signature not show like that. Wonder if my first 10 posts are without signature too?

Actually what happened was there was few threads where I purposely did not put my signature at all, I unchecked the box. That is why you saw that.

 

Not necessarily all of the posts you ever made. I believe it's retro back to where you first added a signature. For example, if you had no signature until today, and then added one it wouldn't show on your older posts.

It will change all of your earlier posts with a signature.

I say it's retro...same thing with your avatar and location

 

on every forum software i've used, your signature shows on every post you ever made

 

You can choose not to show the signatures in your settings.
I am sure Shawn can post one comment here to clear all this up if he feels it is necessary.

It will change all of your posts with a signature.

If your earlier posts did not have a signature it will not add it to those posts.

 

I added my signature from the beginning but I was more wondering if I added a second URL to my signature now if it would show up on all the previous posts

 

Yes, it would show up on your previous posts with a signature.

 

It will show on every previous post. for example Amit please check your first Post. I would love to see you first signature
