I am doing SEO on my client website and most of keywords now indexed in google SE but problem is that client's website url showing in search engine like this example.com I want to show website such as www.example.com so any one can suggest me what should i do ?? It is urgent please reply me asap.
What I know is that there is option in Gogle webmaster tool to choose preferred domain . I think your client has selected domain.com as preferred domain. If you provide URL then I may give more details.
It probably also depends on the backlinks. The site may have more backlinks to the version without www.
In google webmaster tools there is a section where you can choose whether your site is displayed www.yoursite.com or yoursite.com.
now set on google webmaster tools 'Don't set a preferred domain' but when i select 2nd option Display URL's as www.domain.com then this error appeared 'Part of the process of setting a preferred domain is to verify that you own http://domain.com/. Please verify http://domain.com/.'
Google will provide you some meta tag and instruction how to verify.. read there or search google help forum.
There is an option in google webmaster tools but it only acts as a suggestion. It takes long most of the time to get website indexed as www.http:// or www. because it carries more weight than nothing at all.
