Has anyone tried the web apps version of Office 2010?

Would also be good to find out how this compares with Google Apps.

Reading the article it seems that Google Docs is more flexible in how a document can be saved.

I still use Office 2003 as the price for updates are too expensive. With the Compatibility Pack I can open documents with the DOCX format.

I have recently installed Microsoft Office 2010. At first , I couldn't open my Office files saved under my previous Office program. It turned out that this is due to microsoft registry policy setting, which helps provide further system security.
I had to access the Windows Registry and disable the registry policy setting, which is a lot of work if you'll ask me. I think I'll stick yo my Office 2003 until everything's okay with Office 2010. I believe that employing a program with a lot of possible compatibility issues is definitely not worth anybody's time. =(

well from what I've been hearing there doesn't seem to be alot of innovation with these new microsoft office web apps. Hehe I'm gonna stick with word 2003 ;)

Only problem with web based documents and apps is the ability to lose this information if an account is deleted/banned. You essentially own the content if it's on your local computer but if it's on the cloud, you really don't have the rights to the information. Best to back it up if you want to start delving into web based apps.

Of course, you have no reason to fear this despite reports floating around the web. You have more reason to be concerned your computer will crash/delete what you have.
This is true of anything and the real truth. We run our whole business on Google docs.
