i recently converted one of my mybb to vbulletin 4.x... now i am really disappointed by its performance and other things.

is there any way in the world to roll it 3.8.5 from this shitty [pardon my language] 4.x

If you have database backup than install 3.8.5.

I dont think you would be able to do that; however check with vbulletin.com to make sure.

I like all the cool functionality. At the same time this seem to be a rush product with so many problems.
They gonna release 4.0.4 in a several weeks, that might solve many of those problems. May be you wanna wait until then.

I believe ImpEx will let you convert to 3.x.

4.0.x is junk, wait for 4.1 then try again.

import it to another forum, then import that to 3.8
    or upload your backup

    4.x isn't junk, but it's perfect either..

    nope

Quite honestly, and from my opinion, if you converted to vB4, I would stay on track as the issues that some think are show stoppers are being resolved as we speak.

I have no regrets going to vB4 (from vB3.x, and XMB originally) even if the current release isnt perfect, as the enhancements and continuing improvements are on the fast track.

... and 3.x is sooo old anyways now.

even if 3.x is old its pretty much stable ... (as a software as well as keeps the server stable)

Convert it to mybb . . . Use impex to convert it back to vb 3.x. But you will loose all your members password, just mass mail them saying that we are back, bla bla and you are good to go :)

Take a look at INTERNETBRANDS.COM. They own vBulletin and they also own over 200 forums that run vBulletin. None (or almost none) of their forums have switched to vBulletin 4!

I just talked with someone at IB (They're trying to buy one of my websites) and they confirmed that there are a lot of problems with vb4.
