    The way of promote website is not about new and old, most of them have to use the basic principles mentioned in DP and elsewhere for a million of times already. :)

    1. Quality Backlink over quantity
    2. Quality Content with regular updated
    3. Avoid spam attempt, evidently black-hat stuff such as cloaking page or hidden text
    4. Patient and steady building + enough website aged

    promoting of websites can be done in organic search optmization which involves link building by directory submissions, social bookmarking,web 2.0 application, blog commenting and blog posting etc. . the site promtion also requires some advertisments programs like PPC etc. but for intiating PPC you should know about the proper keyword which bears high searches.     One easy way is to do some keyword research to find buying keywords. Then research those keywords in YouTube and find related videos with high view counts. Create more videos targeting different individual buying keywords and this will increase free traffic to your website.

    Don't worry about that. Much of what you need to learn can be found on Digital Point. Do you have access to Youtube and ezinearticles.com? Those are two good places to promote. Also, joining a general chat forum in your own country can be a good way of getting known. With Ezinearticles I would suggest submitting a few articles detailing the benefits of some of the merchandise available on your furniture site. With youtube, maybe you could make some funny or fun videos using the furniture in them. ?? Don't forget, you can always buy some ads. :)
