Creating a Blog Vs. Just Articles on my Site?

I have a review style site whose main focus is the main page where I actually review the products. This makes it difficult to create on site content to target further key words, so I wanted to know if I should open a blog section in which I write frequent updates vs. simply putting articles on my site and target each keyword in a different article on the site while linking back from there to my main page. Ideas?

If you're willing to put in the time and effort for a blog, you can certainly try it. Successful blogs need to be updated frequently, though. Plus, unless you already have alot of traffic on your site, you'll need to get the word out about your blog before you see any real results from it!

Have you thought about doing some article marketing to get you some exposure?

It depends.. either way, it's all in the same site. It's just a matter of organizing the content for your readers..

Think "how can I organize this so readers can find the info the best.." don't think of search engines first, think them second.. it will pay off in the long run.

There are pros and cons to both. First, posting articles with different keywords on your site, may make it difficult to place well in SERPS. On the other hand, creating a blog you'd be starting from ZERO. You would have to start optimizing completely and even then being all over the place with keywords may be a bit difficult. I suggest that you simply try to weave in your own keywords to the reviews. It may be difficult but is not impossible. You simply have to train your brain to do it. Do not OVER do it. Just randomly add them in your reviews. Add these articles to your site and see how that starts to work for you. If you think it is affecting the SERPS for your particular keywords then you can opt for the blog and optimize it. However do not forget to build links to that as well. Most people overlook the importance of building backlinks to inner pages, blogs included.

For me, having a separate blog for your website is beneficial. But, if can able to supply fresh articles for your blogs and website, much better.

In my own experiences, keeping review features on site and hosting blogs on a different place would be better choice. :)

    Have a nice day,

You should add a blog, it will help you to get traffic and links.
