I OR We all do Cpanel Backups, Or File Backups Alone, Or even Mysql Backups... :)

No need to rely on a Automatic BAckup system for no Chance... Manual is Secure.. And Safe and although, its not a tough sort of Job :)

    Thanks.

Manual Backups are fine when you only have a few sites. But what about when that number starts to climb?

    Easy :D

Host sites on the same host and Do a Cpanel Back up.... I dont think Big Site Managers keep each and every Domains shredded into different hostings :)

I do think there will be some cron jobs to do the work.. But not sure.. All in All, Rent a Server Manager Incase if you can manage your server alone.. :) He would do all the things.

Am a Little Server manager LOL :p You can Rent me :D

    Thanks.

How many websites do you have, and are they ALL with different hosts?

why not use a script? Most Backup hosters provide an automated script to their customers.

20+ sites that I am helping to manage. Some of them are on different sites. I was hoping to setup some kind of automated system that would backup all the sites to a desktop. Something that we could put on a client's site and forget about it.

Are you actually hosting them or are you only helping them? For example, we have an php script available which backs up the files of one cpanel account (full cpanel backup) and sends that over ftp to our remote backup servers. You can also choose to delete old backups as soon as a new backup is being pushed to the remote backup servers. This script can simply be automated with a cron job and you will never have to touch it again.

I have used several backup programs for years, and I recommend Handy Backup, it's easy and reliable software for website backup, and works great...

cpanel has a good backup (if you have a control panel). Otherwise it is dependent on what your webserver is running as to the software you use. You could also setup a cron job and ftp the data/files somewhere.
