    Wordpress? dreamweaver?

I need something easy and good. Free is good but I don't mind having to pay for it.
I am a beginner but am willing to learn
    thank you

Even if you're a beginner I say go out and find tutorials on XHTML and CSS. Then do whatever you want, but don't use those software which produces buggy and scrappy codes.

Dreamweaver is a HTML editor and web design software you can use on your computer, Wordpress is blog software which is hosted on your server.

Wordpress, you don't have to code yourself and search engines will find your site easier if you update your blogs often and create quality contents

Hi there newby...I hope you don't mind my suggestion. I started with HTML coding back in 1992, then all we had was a text editor and a the HTML code, everything was hand written. Now there are wysiwyg's gallore, some are good at code structure, others are not so good. Dreamweaver gives you the best of both worlds as you can use the WysiWyg or you can hand code, or do both at the same time. If you are new and really want to learn then I am a firm believer that there is no better way than to pull out a text editor like Notepad, pull up a tutorial and start writing a web page from scratch.

As for Wordpress, it is an excellent program to use as a base structure, especially if you are needing to create something fast, be able to grow without a lot of recoding, once you have the template in place the rest is pretty much filler for the most part. If you want to be able to be unique and have your own independent designs and layouts then learning CSS, HTML, and at least familiarizing yourself with PHP is a definite have to do. There are some really good tutorials, both written and on youtube that are free and easy to follow on how to write CSS, HTML, WordPress Templates the whole nine yards, if you need any help finding them just send me a pm and I'll round some links up for you.

I own Dreamweaver and it’s a nightmare! So difficult to use! I love Apples’s iWeb, but when I lost my hard drive, I could not get my web site back into the program. If you publish to your own site instead of theirs you CAN’T PUT IT BACK. I have to redo the whole thing. You can bet I won’t use iWeb again.
