I have recently created a new blog and have create some post on it. The blog is health care related category. Please help me how can I get traffic to my blog, what initial steps I do for getting traffic.
For getting traffic to your website, bookmark your blog on different social networks. These social networks can be buzz.yahoo.com, bit.ly, stumbleupon.com, mixx.com etc.
use twitter for promotion, first you must register on twitterfeed.com and every you have post, the post will displayed at your twitter.
Set up a twitter account and tweet the posts. Create a squidoo lens in your niche, add your blog feed. ping after each post. Post regularly in forums, even ones not in your niche. Comment on blogs, related or semi-related to your niche. Basically most anything that you would use for traffic to a domain website. Stephen C

Continue to establish your blog with more quality articles then bookmark them to different social bookmarking sites. Be also active in social networking sites to introduce your blog to other members.
When you have gotten a keyword to target for your blog, most especially one that has high monthly global searche volume at Google Adword Keywrod Tool but low websites competing for the keyword when taken to Google.com (probably thousands and not million), then be using such keyword.
