Yes, SEO is same for every type of site. That should be visitors and search engine friendly.

    The following are few things:

    1. Ensure each product has search engine friendly URL.
    2. Ensure the title has the exact product name
    3. Ensure a good description and keywords.

If you are using a ecommerce software, you can setup item 1 and 2 to automatically do for you when you add a product. But a good description and keyword it is good add manually.

What I advise my customers if they have hundreds of products -

    1. Identify products that are much better than competition or products they want to sell more
    2. Optimize those products well for SE
    3. Create incoming links to those page.

    Hope this info helps.

Also, make sure you include the SKU in the title and on the page. It helps if the product name and SKU are H1. People who know exactly what they want and search for a SKU are more likely to purchase than those doing broad keyword searches.

First of all, see if your shopping cart allows you edit the URL of your products. Most shopping carts have "zkwn2k1ffffjjkk2k1.html" as the product page, however, if you can configure the product page to "ipod-accessories-protector-screen.html", it would become very SEO friendly.

If your shopping cart doesn't allow this feature, you can look into prestashop. It is probably the most user-friendly, function, flexible, and seo friendly shopping cart you can find!
