Not Allowed to display adsense on Video Site?

Today I was reading through adsense TOC. And I found that it is not allowed to display adsense on a video site. The policy says:

In order to avoid associations with copyright claims, website publishers may not display Google ads on web pages with MP3, Video, News Groups, and Image Results.

However, it says "to avoid copyright claims". YouTupe allows you to display their code (video) on different web sites. So to put those videos in my blog violate this policy?

All that needs to be updated. It hasn't been true for quite awhile. Proof?

Check out thsese posts at the OFFICIAL ADSENSE Google Group (they should confirm for you that putting adsense on sites with video IS okay):

If Google is telling Adsense publishers to put video on their site through an Adsense announcement board, it must be OK.

Remember, these were posted in an OFFICIAL ADSENSE news group by an OFFICIAL REPRESENTATIVE of Google. No one else, but Google representatives, are allowed to post there.

    Hi Mike323

I read the posts you send me. But, from my understanding, you can put video to complement the content. My site is just selection of videos that i found interesting. Would this be problem do you think?

Yes, it's okay. I personally contacted Adsense when I was building a game site where some pages had nothing on them but flash games and no content (flash games are the same as video) and they said it was okay.

i have a video site too (youtube).. because youtube is public video or we can say it free video ....right?

and place my adsense code at there since 2 months ago and everything is Ok !

I think if you site contain illegal mp3 files of video files.. that will break google TOS

    thanks

I would think that part of the problem with putting adsense on a site that is ONLY videos is that there wouldn't be enough text on the page for Google to know what ads to serve. That's different than what the Google people are describing in the Adsense group, which is video in addition to your usual text.

Oh, and I've never heard of a non-copyrighted music video. All videos (as well as photos, drawings, text, etc.) are automatically copyrighted as soon as they are created. In the case of professional music videos the copyright has probably been registered, meaning infringers can be liable for up to $150,000, so of course the videos were taken down.

The only videos that you can know are not copyrighted are those that have an explicit statement that they are in the public domain.

Yes but, how can you make it unique content by adding few sentences. The video itself is the potential problem. I don't see why adding few sentences make it legal/publishable on your site. IF it is against the TOS paragraph would not help.

This has already been discussed before.
