    Hello,

what are the most common plugins required for wordpress blog. I have installed spam karma 2, mathematical calculation for stop spam and bots.

are there any plugins available which help you sort common problems and provide ease of work.

What plugins are commonly used for word press blog?

Using the sitemaps plugin has drastically increased the frequency with which Google crawls my site and picks up new posts

This is off-topic for this thread but I tried Google sitemaps for 3 or 4 months and honestly I never saw anything different in terms of spidering or anything else. Eventually, I just deleted them.

I've never seen any need to go beyond Akismet. It has stopped everything so far.

i use sitemaps and my posts are indexed within 24hrs.
my PR is 0 now and slated for PR4 at next update.

by the way, i am trying to figure out the email notification when someone posts a follow up to your blog comment.

any idea which one it is?

also i hv a heck of a difficult time getting 'related posts' plugin to work.

for those doing adsense, i think 'adsense beautifier' helps you get better CTRs for yr adsense ads.

No. Consider them for entertainment purposes only, like horoscopes.

I like Akismet but it doesn't stop everything for me, it seems to be letting an awful lot of porn spam through recently or maybe you don't call that spam :D

I would call that spam if it got through. For me, it doesn't.

I use www-redirect, so that all incoming links without the "www" of the URL go to the URL with "www". e.g. mysite.com redirects to www.mysite.com

Shortstat is a good plugin. It shows you total page views, uniques, referers etc. My fav plugin is transload.
