I just downloaded some of one of my own directories using a download manager, within a category, say "Arts" i noticed that its downloaded 3 html files named Arts, like so: Arts, Arts_2, Arts_3 I can see that this is because of the Sort by: PageRank | Hits | Alphabetical option within the directory. Do you think that this would cause problems within the search engines in any way?
I've seen instances where one of the sorting options page is ranked and the default is not, so I'd have to guess yes. I had nofollowed the options in the past, but have since removed all but the default option.
Thanks CReed, i will look at getting that sorted soon, its the first time that its come to my attention.
Well i dont like to give the search engines reasons to cause me any problems, so if i can change something for the better then it makes sense to do that.
Granted, simply because we cannot influence SEs, keeping in good order our own ends is the best we can do under those circumstances. fastreplies
