I find it hard to believe that you're serious. I sell hundreds of sites, and I've never had a buyer come back to me in anger because I didn't remind him that terms of service exist and should be read.

    Karma? Come on now.

I have no idea what site you purchased from us or when it was; you haven't referenced it either via PM or in this thread. You certainly don't deserve a refund, but do your worst :)

Just to clarify for everyone in this thread:

This gentleman purchased a proxy site from me, later found that his host did not allow proxy sites as per their ToS, and he now wants a refund because I didn't explain to him that he should always be aware of any given host's ToS.

No I'm growing tired of you posting baseless, uninformed, and just plainly wrong "advice" (especially when off topic) in other threads.

In this case you are blaming someone who sold you a proxy site for self inflicted problems that you should have checked on yourself. It is not the responsibility of the seller to tell you that you need to read the TOS of your hosting provider. This is your own responsibility.

    1) You should have known the TOS you were operating on.

    2) You should have reviewed your TOS before buying a proxy site to make sure it was allowed. Just like one should review their hosting provider's TOS before undertaking ANY non-standard web service.

I appreciated those efforts, and different viewpoints can turn up things overlooked by others (I even gave you positive rep for those efforts).

At the same time you can not take offense when others point out flaws in the advice you give. While there were a couple of issues you turned up that had been overlooked; there was also a great deal of bad advice based on flawed assumptions.

Instead of just dishing out advice, you should be listening to what others are saying. Like the proxy server incident, you are making lots of noobie mistakes.

Didn't he say he had earned back his investment before his account was disabled? Sounds like he's trying to get something for nothing.

    Lets review

I wrote you privately and not once did I ask for a refund.

You followed me to this thread somehow and put yourself in the middle of it when I had no fight with you other than as I said in PM I think you deceived me....

Now we have KJB yammering his mouth about me asking for a refund .....

Which I did not ask for....

I asked if you wanted to let the pay processor settle the dispute.... since you came here and made one.... which didnt exist till you ran your mouth....or fingers so to speak...

    Peace

I think this was the problematic post. ;) You don't ask someone that kind of question if you're intention is just to warn people to check TOS before buying proxies.

I have a huge interest in proxy sites, and I have a huge interest in my customers. That's why I visited the thread.

My 'following you' isn't exactly great grounds for a refund request.

    Madness I tell you!

The point is I tried to show my appreciation for your efforts.

You were disparaging them indirectly and not taking responsibility for your own stupidity. I'm sorry if you are offended by saying buying a proxy site without reading your TOS was stupid, but it was. It wasn't the seller's responsibility to ensure you were allowed to operate the proxy server, it was yours. You admitted to not reading your TOS and for being one who claims to be an expert on web stuff you should have known better. This is the definition of stupidity.

Advice can be right or wrong. You found a few things that needed to be addressed, which I was grateful for at the time. Unfortunately most of your advice was way off base.

Now my beef with you isn't that you give out advice based on your knowledge, but that you are trying to drag other threads off topic AND in this case are blaming others for your mistake. In addition you made a baseless claim in regards the legality of proxy sites by making false claims that the "feds" were cracking down of the site.

Sorry it was for the most part dead wrong. I have been doing this type of stuff for eleven years and personally found the advice questionable. At the same time others in other forums whom I known are very good at this (in fact one individual makes six figures doing this) did not see the problems you raised as issues.

Countless individuals have looked at my site in regards to the Google SERP issue and the only potentially serious issues uncovered were exposed and addressed well before you piped in. By the time you did pipe in the conclusion drawn by many individuals across different forums was that this wasn't an SEO issue as much as something really screwing going on in the SERPs. The problem is you are so tunnel versioned by your own beliefs that you can't see that not all problems are SEO related.

Oh and in regards to you claims that search engine traffic isn't a good business model, it is no better and no worse than any other business model. There are plenty of business models that are way more volatile than this. Examples would be commercial fishing and farming (just ask the spinach farmers in California).

    I'll believe it when I see it.
