This morning I tried adding a new disposable email address. something I've done 60 times before without a problem. Now I'm getting an error message: "Unable to add the disposable address". Whats up?
FYI They are available to you when you pay for Yahoo Mail, or, in my case, I use AT&T DSL, and they have some kind of relationship with Yahoo. They give you a base e-mail address like baseaddress- __________@yahoo.com. You fill in the blanks. You can have up to 500 of them. The mail is forwarded to your regular address. Why use them? You need to give someone your email address, but you are afraid they will sell it, and you will get a ton of spam. So you give them a disposable address. If you start getting spam addressed to the disposable address, you can delete the disposable address. If you give a different on to each organization that you are wary off, and keep track. You will know who betrayed you. So far, no one has sold me out. Here's the answer I got on another forum as to why it's not working: http://sg.answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20100611115703AAyO0Y7
I just found this post again, and realized I didn't follow up on it. I contacted AT&T, (Yahoo wouldn't talk to me, because AT&T is my ISP). AT&T verified that it wasn't working, and contacted Yahoo (because it was a Yahoo problem). Yahoo had it fixed a few days later.
