    Hi ..

I'm trying to make a customized wp theme for my new blog .. and I'm having a problem ..

I want to display the blog posts in a "page" not in the front page ..

a good example is this wp theme
    http://ithemes.com/demos/charlie/

there are no posts in the front page, but when you click "blog"
    http://ithemes.com/demos/charlie/?page_id=21

it redirects you to a page displaying the blog posts ..

How can I assign the blog posts to a specific page ??

    Will be thankful.

you need to create two pages for your front page and your blog page
your front page home template should be set to the default template or any custom template
your blog page should be blank page and do not use custom page template

go to administration > settings > reading panel
there you can set your front page and posts page you've just made

? I did look at it, my entire website is run on wordpress but I started with a cms framework for it. Trying to get copy up and the main graphic but you can check it here.

If it helps I can let you poke around it a bit.

    Hi!,
As per your examples sites the first page is a static page and the link from the blog page is the blog page. Its quite simple to do. In the sample this only looks complicated cause the site is using two different sidebar templates..... the main page has it on the right and on the blog page its on the left.
Hope this helps you get the idea together to do it. If you would rather have me do it for you for a small token I could do it... let me know.
