I've put up a site yesterday. Is it listed already? When will it be listed? How can I find out?
    Thanks

For a quick check, copy your site's URL and then type
    site:URL
(no spaces) into Google. If you have been indexed, Google will return the listed in your results.

To get indexed reliably, create a free Google Webmaster Tools account and create an XML sitemap with this free tool. Then use GWT to submit your sitemap to Google.

This is the "scientific" way to do it. You can also simply tweet your site or ping it with a tool like this to speed up the indexing.

    I hope this helps!

    Listed? or indexed?

To see if you are indexed, view the post above. If you are trying to see if you are ranking for a certain keyword, you can use marketing samurai or another rank checker to check multiple keywords.

One simple method is to search Google or whatever search engine using a specific and unique
phrase in your content. If your site appears in the search results, you know it's been indexed.

Just type the url into google and see if it comes up in the results. Also try the url in " like "www.yoururl.c." and see if it indexed yet. If its not just keep adding content and try submitting your articles to digg.

Searching for your domain name itself would easily tell you if your site is indexed or not... but if the name is a competitive keyword, you should surely be including 'site:' ahead of your domain name!

People, please have some SHAME! Read the damn thread and don't repeat what has already been said. It is not all about plugging your signature links, you are ruining this forum with your garbage. If you have nothing to add, don't add it!

    Thanks PhillipSEO especially.
I agree with you. Thank you all, but most of you just repeated others.
