i have heard a lot of bad things about gaming websites. well not really bad, just that they pay and convert poorly. Can anyone out there running a gaming, or game related website give some feedback on how they are doing? Thanks

CTR is ~ 3 to 4% (one 336x280 ad only in download pages)

Gaming sites will help you get an extra 3$ per day for a whole 60 click and 2000 page views .
if you are going to run a gaming site think again :
Flash games websites are just clones and they don't get high page rank by google .
No one wasting his time on a flash game will click on an ad about onlime marketing "bad targeting", even if a gaming ad shows up it pays very low .
a cheat codes website will be nothing, there the cheat gods around : gamewinners cheatcc and others .

I have a solution for you .. you can make a website for a one game like "final fantasy" just an example, on that website put cheats, screenshots, downloads, make some screen savers, belnd your ads very well, and because that game doesn't have a lot websites on the web your site may get the first on search engines "Use a domain "related to" or "contain" the game name .

that's in case you really want to make a gaming related site .
    peace ...

thanks for the post. i actually am building a site about a specific game. the type of site that i am building for the game, will only have 3 main competitors. The click value, from the research i have done ranges from about $0.02 to about $0.60(probably not very accurate research, but i gave it a shot). I am going to put a link in my sig when i launch the site. It might even be a game some of you play :)

Lol... don't use any PPC ads on a gaming site. It's common sense - use CPM ads.

It's alright if you have targeted keywords and it's showing items that are related to your site.

Well, I have a forum based on an MMORPG myself. I'm getting only around 7~10k impressions per day, but I'm making around $1.30 average. My earnings have been increasing by quite a lot over the last few days though from experimenting with ad placements. Hope that continues. :)

does anyone have any sites based specifically on one pc/ps2/gc, etc... game? what kind of traffic do you recieve and have payed for it or is it a result of search engines? are you recieving more then $0.01-$0.05 per click? Thanks again guys. (i know...the only way to know for sure is to try myself. i am currently creating a site, just looking for some realistic feedback so im not disappointed with the return i get)
