Slump in Forum posting jobs?

    Hello all,

I was just wondering if anyone else noticed that in comparison to last year there are nearly no forum posting jobs in the content creation section. Last summer I was able to do a good few jobs creating posts but this year so far I've struggled to get one. Has it been like that for long? have forums lost popularity?

Perhaps just the general theme/topics forum that has slowed down. Niche forums specially the ones that requires technical know how are still going up.

I've noticed that as well, I used to do a lot of forum posting work and while I don't need to now, I do like to look occasionally but, there isn't many. I think forums may have lost their popularity, I know sites I use have become a lot quieter over the past year, including my own. I even started a new forum on a high ranking site of mine, lots of traffic, so a few posts on the forum would occur naturally, or so I thought. I hired someone to post on the forum to kick start it but, nope, nothing from anyone else. Obviously a new forum is different to an established site but, even establish forums, I've noticed have seen a decrease in posts. My partner regularly says how quiet DP is, compared to say a year ago, as well. (Maybe it's just DP :p and not forums lol).

Yeah I've definitely noticed this, I've found opportunities to do forum posting jobs much more limited recently.

This is due to the fact that paid poster is not a good choice for new forum.
Many of forum owner more willing to fork out more $$ to organize contest to get more member rather than hire paid poster.

because forum link not like it was. The backlink from forum is not good as it was, so forum marketing decreased.
Besides that, forum content is full with spam, so people lazy to go to forum

Reading this thread makes me wonder if this is the beginning of the end of forums. Two decades ago companies like Brave Net made it offering free websites, the tiny URls, angelfire, etc, but after awhile they lost popularity as it became more difficult to profit from them (SEO). They eventually gave way to free forums. Now with the dawn of blogs and free sites such as facebook, etc, will we see an eventual death to forums?

Facebook is to blame too, more facebook goers less forum goers, but there's still a lot of these out there keep looking

I think people are coming to the realization that throwing up a forum and throwing a few posts on it will not keep people coming back. There are more viable ways to start up a forum and the word has spread on that. There is still a lot of value in content creation though and I would recommend you focus in that area if you have the talent. :)
