Gambling Directory accepting only 50 quality submissions - hurry

Hello all,

We have decided to accept 50 submissions in our Gambling Directory.

Note : Only PR2+ sites please. Others will be deleted immediately...

So, hurry up get your gambling related sites listed! (yes, gambling niche directories are hard to get)

I started submitting to this site and was impressed by the quality of the categories. No wonder, I created them.

The creator of this directory stole its content from my directory http://www.casino-directory.name/. My site has been around since Jan 06.

Its the second copy of my categories that I have found.

 

Well, as for the categories, I downloaded a mysql dump from somewhere...don't remember

 

Well, they are copyrighted material. I would appreciate it if you could remove them from your site immediately.

If that was the case, then 90% of the general directories should shut down immediately...!
Also, you must be knowing that commonly used words and terms cannot be a trademark...compare the situation here.

 

Definitely. I spent many days researching and writing the categories and descriptions. You cannot take someone else's work and use it without permission.

I have followed directories for years and have seen few cases of blatant abuse,where an entire website has been copied, page for page.

 

There's a difference between the general directory category databases you mentioned and this. Those general category databases have either been provided free by the compiler or can be purchased. This one was created by CanadianEh, and he wants to keep it unique. I think that since he can clearly prove it was his (by the date first online), it is reasonable for him to require removing them. I know that you did not know you were doing anything wrong, which is the pain of the situation. I don't know if he would even want to, but maybe you could ask him if you can pay him an amount to use the database. Just trying to help on an idea for a solution...

 

Well, I'm a poor guy... Sorry, if I had done something wrong.

I think he already has about 5 sites listed (one-way) for free on my directory...
I hope he takes at them as compensation.

I agree wholeheartedly with CanadianEh. Creating a customized directory is not just a collection of arbitrary words and reflects a fair bit of work and thought process. Ripping them off from somewhere else is a no-no, as with all other content out there.
