I'm not sure if that's entirely true, when another site quotes me I generally get most visitors when the post is on the home page, though do continue to get visitors from the specific post page afterwards. It all depends on the linking blog I suppose.

Thank you, it's taken a lot of time and work and will be benefiting from a whole new skin and extra section very soon.

The majority of the links from other blogs are natural, I did the odd link request in the early stages but not many. My main tips for getting links organically is to link out a lot, write unique content and get your site known by leaving comments on other blogs and linking to related stories.

It does but I've found it to be exponential, the more links you get naturally faster new ones come.

Ask Google , I don't think there has been a proper PR update for ages, At one point some of my internal pages were PR6 and PR7 but I've not checked in a while as I don't really care about PR.

I currently only make money from my blogs. I am hoping to diversify as time permits.

    heya,
while we're on the subject of monetization, i think the holy grail is ultimately to create your own products.

it's easy to look for niches in a specific area.
    take for example, 'myspace'
    i checked clickbank.com and there's only a 33pg ebook retailing for $17.95 with a 75% payout.

i dont know about you, but having the experience of getting ahold of 500+ friends on myspace in 5 days (including marlon sanders, and product launch formula dude, Jeff Walker) i feel pretty comfortable about creating a 200 page $47 or $59 product.

from there it's merely a matter of creating the product, listing it on clickbank, doing SEO and traffic generation and counting the $$$ come in.

    it's easily a $5,000 - $10,000 product. and you'd be looking at a 12-18 month product lifespan easily.

making a living from blogging is easy, isn't it?
    :)
