I know there are several questions about Google cache, however i haven't found anything useful. I have a quite big site and Google cached the site several times a day. However now there is still a cache from several days ago. I wonder what might be the reason and is there any "check tool" or "fix tool" to investigate? It's quite important that Google caches the site several times a day, but i don't know what to do
The caching activity and pattern can be vary and differently for each website, regardless how authority they are. The main point that effect crawling and caching rate is how frequently your website has been updated. If you have updated daily for a period of time, around 2 weeks, then Googlebots will adjust their crawling rate to match with the frequent of your website update.
Cache updating depends on your site value by Google estimation Google fixes limit based domain age, updation and many other!
Starting to see lots of problems - google de caching many pages of my sites, and the pages have been no. 1 serp for years. Then when I check the datacenters, I find that many of them still have current caches. The reason for the pages dropping on the serps is that those pages are decached and so other pages are being returned for those searches that are not as well optimized, and dont have specific links for that phrase. Is just that google is having troubles as was mentioned for January? Or can there be issues on the site. The site has not been down, and the google sitemaps system is not highlighting any issues.
You can set the crawl rate in google webmaster tools. To change the crawl rate: 1. On the Webmaster Tools Home page, click the site you want. 2. Under Site configuration, click Settings. 3. In the Crawl rate section, select the option you want. The new crawl rate will be valid for 90 days.
Sometimes Google might be actually recording new caches of the websites but you may not find the updated records on your browser. It is believed that some sites, due to their natures, such as blogs which are RSS powered could be better in terms of fast indexing and cache updating but if you continue adding fresh contents to your site, gradually the crawling trends of Google would be adjusted according to your site's status.
Google takes some time in caching any page.. it may take around 1 - 2 week. But you have to try your best only then.
I have the same problem, I think Google is having some kind of internal problem, lots of changes this month.
