How many seo professional are there in a world and why does people dont come in this field so often as this is very dynamic and why there is no proper education for seo.

SEO by nature is dynamic, fluid and ever evolving with the web, so there'rs no "set in the stone" education, but there are established best practices and few quality courses ( example: by marketmotive - run by avinash kaushik, todd malicot )

There are about 50,000 companies in the USA, most of which are small 1-2 person freelance teams. I would say there are probably only about 1000 or so quality companies in the USA, but that's not a fact. Not sure about the world. As for making it as an SEO company, it's more difficult than you think. Anyone can rank someone for a local term- try doing whitehat for an online pharmacy or something. That's where all the money is, in extremely competitive niches. So, people who think they are "great" at SEO, turn out to be hacks.

 

by quality companies do you mean that the companies who know there jobs well.
I have been on freelance sites but as far as i think they are waste of time and money.

I think there are very few seo professionals in the world who do they job well when i was working a 2 years before in seo
it was lot easy to do seo but it,s now competitive in the niches also.

depends on what a seo profesional is. someone who can amke a website profitable? or someone who is just plain lucky with one of his sites?

 

There are many SEO professionals. Most of them are on conferences with Search engine owners, and don't use this forum.

 

I think Google is the one of SEO company owner, if they want to do... Why they don't make a SEO college?

50,000 companies are just your prediction but i think it would be more better than these if you could include all the smallest and the biggest together. I think around millions are working as we cant predict how much in the world.

 

It all depends on whom you like to call as seo professional. Those with very little knowledge and 1-2 days experience with websites, they also claim themselves as SEO professional. So its too tough to tell unless have any clear idea.

 

There are thousands of SEO pros out there. To go into business in SEO you need a lot of commitment and time as it doesn't pay that well to work freelance. There are lots of places you can learn about SEO. But because it's such a dynamic subject, there can be no formal structure to learning it.
