Should I Report Suspected Scam to Google?

I'm a member of a few article publishing sites which share adsense revenue. One site had performed increasingly well since I joined almost 2 years ago, then it just went downhill.

First it changed the ad placement and position and the click through rate plunged to under 1% even 0%! I contacted them and at first they said they had tested it and it was the best. Then - it seems lots of members complained - so they had a discussion and have now changed it back. The ctr has been restored up to 4% but last month the traffic went down drastically and that has not recovered.

If this was across the board - ie the other article publishing sites had performed the same - I could accept it but they haven't. In fact they have maintained their page impressions even though I've stopped publishing new material. One member has contacted me and said that the site is acting badly and owe its members lots of money!

Is this the sort of thing which should be reported to Google? If me and the other disgruntled members contacted Google would this make a difference? The only problem is I've put lots of work into the material I've published - will this be squandered?

This is an interesting question... is it really a Google issue or an issue between the adsense sharing revenue site and its users? I think Google will be reluctant to get involved with the problem, especially if the revenue sharing site is a big earner. They'll probably leave it to the site to sort out their own internal problem.

The only way that Google will get involved is if enough people complain or there's clear evidence that the site has been scamming it's users. Otherwise the situation will remain unresolved.

Hope you find a solution soon. Good luck.

No point in running to Google and telling them "so and so" site scammed me...why don't you build your own site and put your content there...you get 100% of it...none of this "revenue sharing" BS.

That's my honest opinion, take as you wish.

BTW Google paid the site their part of the deal and it looks like the revenue sharing site didn't stick up to their side of the deal and pay you guys. Google won't care...
