In addition to the above mentioned methods, i can recommend providing your visitors with an interesting newsletter. Put a form on your website or blog asking them to signup in exchange for a free ebook or product. If you make it really interesting and entertaining, more people will sign up for your newsletter and recommend it to other folks. The more people who sign up for your newsletter, the more traffic you get. This is a mix of email marketing and viral marketing. It is also great for follow up emails. When you update your blog or website email your subscribers and tell them the latest and greatest idea, tip, or advice you’ve acquired since then.
This is something you should really google about ( how do backlinks work?) In terms of free widgets none are good, the best one's are the one's you pay for but even those I wouldn't necessarily recommend. Most of it is considered blackhat seo.
I'd probably offer another vote for article marketing. Getting links that are in context can give you a big boost.
My number one traffic tip isn't even one of your choices: GREAT content!! Honestly one could be a master at all of the things you listed in your poll, but people aren't going to return to your site if you don't have something good to offer. I've spent years developing my content, and comparatively little time actually marketing it.
I have been investing more time in SMO lately and it's fascinating how well it has paid off for me, write one good compelling tweet and hello 5,000 visitors, it's fantastic.
I'd have to lean towards article marketing but honestly it's only free if you like to write and churn out articles easily. Otherwise you're paying to have articles written and you want all of them to rank well.
Probably, Article Marketing but since I'm not good in Article writing I've said it already on other posts. I think I'll picked Blog first then second is social sites and third is forum.
1. Keyword in the domain name 2. On page optimization 3. A few quality backlinks ... that's all you really need.
You've made an awesome point, Nordebba. It all start with quality content. Quality content is number one method for generating traffic.
