In terms of free widgets none are good, the best one's are the one's you pay for but even those I wouldn't necessarily recommend. Most of it is considered blackhat seo.

 

I'd probably offer another vote for article marketing. Getting links that are in context can give you a big boost.

 

My number one traffic tip isn't even one of your choices: GREAT content!! Honestly one could be a master at all of the things you listed in your poll, but people aren't going to return to your site if you don't have something good to offer. I've spent years developing my content, and comparatively little time actually marketing it.

I have been investing more time in SMO lately and it's fascinating how well it has paid off for me, write one good compelling tweet and hello 5,000 visitors, it's fantastic.

I'd have to lean towards article marketing but honestly it's only free if you like to write and churn out articles easily. Otherwise you're paying to have articles written and you want all of them to rank well.
