Is there any method to check if my articles are indexed by Google? After pinging the article how much time do Google need to index it? Thanks
just paste the url of the article into google and see if it finds it, or if you are putting it on several sites then type in the title in ""s and see how many of them appear.
Type the URL of the article in Google Search. The frequency of the indexing depends on the frequency of the new content. If you have new content frequently the Google indexes you more frequent. Cheers,
Thanks for the response. I just pasted the URL in Google Search but there were no results, then I tried with the title and I saw my article. So I guess this means it's indexed, right?
^^ If you found your page (not someone else's page linking to you like a digg bookmark) in search results, then its indexed.
Actually proper way is to type info: and then article URL - like this: http://www.google.com/search?q=info:http://www.winamp.com/skin/vodafone-zoozoo/222200
OK, thanks guys. However I got one more question. I saw that my articles are indexed but when I check my main article there is no backlinks pointing to it - Why is that? I did backlinks with anchor text pointing back to my main article and I spun my articles before I submit them they're like 50% unique...
Google doesn't update backlinks very often, so if the articles are new they probably wont show any backlinks (even if there are some).
Thanks dlm I was confused. So I just need to keep doing backlinks and once they are updated I'll rank on 1st spot? How often Google update backlinks, do you know? Thanks in advance
If you want my advice I would recommend to stop getting tied down in the details. Think bigger - submit, 10s... 100s of articles over several weeks, build your own sites up, build links to them and to your articles and then look back at the stats. If you check your rank every day and monitor backlinks to each of the articles you post then youll get nothing done - I know this as I LOVE stats and checking rank, monitoring things too - I think it is helpful, but just set aside a time slot once a week to do it and spend 99% of the rest of your time actually doing work
