I have noticed a new trend. Webmasters promoting affiliate ads will offer coupons or request you sign their guestbooks if you signup through their sites.

Is there a trust problem with affiliate marketing? If so, what's the solution?

The solution is not to ask people to sign up before you give them the link. That way you don't need to build any trust.

It is a growing trend. If people won't sign-up then they are also unlikely to buy anything and just playing and no risk if you lose them. The incentive may also entice them to sign up in higher conversion rates. Once you have the sign-in data then you are building an opt-in database for future marketing campaigns. Yes...the opposite side of the argument is that if you don't have them sign in then you don't have to worry about building trust :)
