Hi I´d like to know if i got the meannig of CPM right... I am new to both Adsense, and these forums. I have started a small site to test the possibilities of Adsense. But i guess the CPM-earnings are ver irrelevant for my site, since it´ll take me ages to reach 1000 views of the same ad. Does CPM pay me when an ad from a certain firm has been showed 1000 times? Or does it work a different way?
CTR means click through ratio. If you mean CPM, you don't need to show the ad 1000 times to get paid.
omg. i must be more newb than i thought... i´ll edit the post right away... But if it ain´t at 1000 views, then when is it? Thx for the reply!
hehe, everyone makes mistakes, we all did that at the start but ctr is just the numbers of clicks you get devided by the amount of page impressions. and cpm is the payout per 1000 page impressions
for instance, you got 10 pageviews making you 0,10 $. CPM will then show $10,00. This is because if you had 1000 views, you could have made $10 (if the CTR was the same of course). Its just a quick way of seeing how well the ad is doing if you got a few thousend views a day.
